John Mann

John is a graduate of New College, Oxford, where he attained a degree in Musicology (2011). Currently the Head of Instrumental Music at Magdalen College School, John is perpetually inspired by pupils and colleagues alike to compose and arrange music, a pursuit that was originally honed under the expert tutelage of Jeffery Wilson at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama. John studied violin with Sergei Fatkulin in Madrid, but he is also a proficient violist and pianist. His compositional style is heavily influenced by his love of jazz harmony, although he frequently tries to stretch himself by writing in new genres.
